Valley Forge

Winter of 1777 George Washington got down on his knees and prayed asking for God's blessing. It was the turning point of the Revolutionary War.

Hey Pastor Dudley,

I really enjoyed your sermon today, especially how you talked about how closely America's history and founding fathers are intertwined with Christianity. I had a couple of questions, though:
1) I know Ben Franklin was a Mason, and George Washington was buried with Masonic rites, and although the quotes you used flowed perfectly with the sermon, is it possible to be both an active Christian and a Mason? During Mason meetings, members aren't able to discuss religion, despite the fact that members come from different faiths. Does being a Mason go against Christianity?
2) By any chance, do you know about freemasonry? I know it's a secretive fraternity, but I was wondering what you knew/thought about freemasonry.

Please don't take this the wrong way. I'm not trying to call you out (haha), but I'm really interested in hearing what your thoughts are on freemasonry and its relationship (if any) with Christianity. You encourage us to question the sermons, so here's some questions for ya! (another haha)

Thanks so much,

Victoria
