Shepherd Church Steps Up

View from my backyard Auditorium turned into a shelter for those in need
Television reporters were kind to report on our Church
Wal-Mart and other local companies donated in a big way

Yesterday and today, the staff at Shepherd of the Hills Church stepped up in a MAJOR way as our church was set up as a Red Cross Evacuation Centers for the Porter Ranch fires. We have had hundreds of volunteers that have worked around the clock to help people who have been evacuated from their homes. The FIREFIGHTERS were AMAZING and have saved so many homes, and the community in Porter Ranch has risen to the occasion. I am so proud of our Church, our staff, our volunteers, and our city. Thank you to ALL who are serving Jesus by serving others.

That's awesome news!!! That fire looks dangerously close to your home.

Hey Pastor,

Though an awful tragedy, it is so awesome to be part of a church that's a blessing to the community at large. I saw you and the volunteers on the news and felt so proud. And your call to bring blankets and pillows got me out of the bed. I just bought a larger bed last week, and had some extra bedding we could no longer use. As usual, God gave us an opportunity to be a blessing. God's timing is just so in sync it's beyond imagination.

Thanks for opening our sanctuary to the community, even as your own home was in peril. That is Christianity in action. We're praying for you.
