Dream of Destiny

We are starting a new ministry in our church called Dream of Destiny. Byron Davis will be spearheading this endeavor as we strive to be a church that pleases the Lord in reaching people from all nationalities.

This week, I will be traveling to Florida to invite other pastors to come alongside our dream.

In the middle of Dr. King's famous speech in Washington, D.C., he addressed those that were in the audience that day, who were NOT African American. There were many people at the mall that day who were of different nationalities, and Dr. King comments on WHY they (those who were NOT African American) were present. I don't want to tell you now... but see if you can look up his speech and find it!!!

Byron is going to help us mentor and develop young men from different ethnic backgrounds and prepare them for ministry and preaching. We are also going to be attempting to raise monies for scholarships for those who would like to attend bible college and can't afford it. We are going to ask churches to offer internships for those of Asian, Latino, and African American heritage.

In a few weeks, I will be mentioning this in church, but pray for me as I travel to Florida to talk about this challenging task of helping all churches to be racially diverse. It is sad that Sunday morning at 10:00 AM is still the most segregated hour of the week. Heaven will be anything but that....

wow...that is very powerful Pastor Dudley. I totally agree with you on that. Coming from a Korean church, I totally understand the segregation that occurs on Sunday mornings. Hopefully one day EVERYONE will be at church TOGETHER.

I absolutely love the constant actions you continually do for the Lord's Kingdom. Since the time I first went to Shepherd you have opened more churches, started Call On Jesus, had a Day of Fasting, and SOOO much more! You are a great leader is SHOWING others how to follow Christ's calling! I see this as ANOTHER goal you will suceed at reflecting God glory!

If I may, I'd like to share with you an event I attended in Iowa last weekend at the Luthern Church of Hope. It was a "Big Dream Gathering" You can see more at: I think members of SotH would thrive at an event like this. The whole time I was there, I could help but think how this is exactly the type of ministering Pastor Dudley does - following the Goals and Dreams God puts on his heart!

This is an amazing ministry and something very much needed. As a member, I am very proud of SOTH and all the events, ministries and resources available to both new and mature christians. I never thought I'd want to work for a church but since attending SOTH, my outlook has changed. It is better to do what you love and get paid for it. I love learning and spreading the Word of God and want to use my administrative skills to serve him.

Mr. Davis will need an assistant, won't he....I'll be submitting my resume for future consideration!
